English Homework

The education minister cuts the class sizes of secondary schools in Hong Kong. He plans to reduce the size of form one classes from 40 to 38 next year and to 36 in 2010. This action is to solve the problem of closure in secondary schools. The action has good points and bad points. The good point is that it can keep more schools open and so there will be fewer teachers lose their jobs. The bad point that I think is the class sizes after the action is still be too big for some schools. Some elite schools are also against the action. And so I think Hong Kong government should establish different maximum sizes base on different schools’ needs. And I think that this action can’t improve the education quality too. There are still thirty students in a small classroom after the action and there may be a large range between the top student and the bottom student. And it will make teachers hard to teach the students.
I think the government can reduce the class sizes more, for example from 40 to 25 or under. Because this will first solve the problem of closure in schools. And second this will provide teachers more time to prepare their lessons as the numbers of books for them to mark are greatly reduced.

History homework

The five qualities are curious about everything, very observant, creative, determine what society needs and patient. I think that Hong Kong need to have more inventors to invent more new things that can prevent global warming because it's one of the most serious problem in Hong Kong. So Hong Kong people should promote all of these qualities.
The schools in Hong Kong don't foster students much in these qualities because they don't want students to become inventors or scientists in the future. Schools want them to become economists as they can promote the economic of Hong Kong. Creative is the only one that the schools foster most by letting students to create their works themselves instead of giving them restrictions. Some schools may also say that students should be curious about everything but they don't foster students. And the school don't talk about patient of students because it's parents' job to train them. The other two are overlooked.

Which revolution does Hong Kong need?

I don't think Hong Kong need any revolution. Why Hong Kong doesn't need American Revolution? Because just look through the causes of the war. Although Hong Kong is a bit discontent with China's rule, but the discontent of Hong Kong is not as strong as that of the thirteen colonies to Britain as China doesn't allow Hong Kong to say about Communist Party's shortcomings only. China just limits Hong Kong in political, but Britain limits the thirteen colonists' in economic too. And these limits bring the colonists to rebel. Therefore, I think Hong Kong doesn't need American Revolution.
Hong Kong doesn't need French Revolution because Hong Kong people aren't discontent with the government. Hong Kong government doesn't rule badly and isn't corrupt. The government doesn't look like the one in France at that time. And Hong Kong doesn't have any financial crisis too. Although Hong Kong's society is a bit inequal, the inequality isn't as big as that of France. So Hong Kong doesn't need French Revolution either.
Hong Kong doesn't need Industrial Revolution because first, not most of Hong Kong people work in farms. Second, Hong Kong is a small place and when we have industrial revolution, then that means there will be a huge amount of industies exist in Hong Kong. So when the industries work, there must be a large amount of pollution produced, then Hong Kong will become a polluted city. In the Industrial Revolution, people could not drive the new machines invented during that period by old power sources, so they need to develop some new sources. But as I have said that industries development isn't suitable to appear in Hong Kong, development in new sources of power isn't indeed too. And also, as most Hong Kong people work in economy but not in science, there won't be any discoveries and inventions in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong doesn't need Cultural Revolution because China will suppress Hong Kong as they don't want Hong Kong to become the after age of Taiwan. China doesn't want to lose Hong Kong because Hong Kong can help China's development and make China a strong country. And Hong Kong is just wasting its time.

The five quanlities that a good inventor might have

I think the five quanlities that a good inventor should have are careful observation, having perseverance, hardworking, brave and having a scientific mind. Let's talk about why should a good inventor have careful having perseverance and hardworking first. Just think about how Thomas Edison invented light bulb, he used 1600 different kinds of materials to carbonize and make filament, but he failed. Yet he kept on trying. If we don't have perseverance or we aren't as hardworking as Thomas Edison, then how can we become a good inventor like him?

Having bravery is one of the quanlities that a good inventor should have because when you think about Marie Curie, she discovered radium but died from its radiation. All kinds of discoveries and inventions must have dangerous as you don't know much of it, so if you aren't brave enough and just afraid that you will be died because of this experiment, you can't do any invention.

All inventors must have careful observation because when you are careless and don't be aware of things, then you will never have any ideas of what to invent. They also need a scientific mind as they always need to be do a lot of scientific thinking. They should think of the things in a scientific way.
